CLIMATE CHANGE SUMMIT WEBSITE
Branding, Web/ Mobile Design
For this project, I was tasked with creating the branding, mobile, and web design for a Climate Change Event. The event, ‘Climate Change Summit 2022’ works to bring awareness to Climate Change and the issues around the world. This event was designed with the intent to discuss the past, present, and future of climate change.
DESIGN PROCESS Brand Development
When coming up with this event, I knew I wanted some graphic elements representing climate change to be used throughout the site. I decided to create a gradient, using a vivid red and deep purple to represent the uneven heating of the earth. The varied gradient would be used across the site in images, buttons, and other graphical elements. I created a stacked-type logo that would serve as a focal point for the branding. Remaining relatively simple, I wanted there to be potential for the year number design to change annually. I kept the colors from the gradient to be used as the color palette for the design of the entire site.

DESIGN PROCESS Site/ Content Development
I knew for the site design, I needed it to take on the weight of the climate change crisis upon which it is based. With that in mind, I knew I needed the site to not only be dynamic but be informational as well. I knew I wanted to create a digestible and easy experience for the user. Keeping in mind that not everyone knows about climate change, I wanted to make sure that users could access, register, and learn about the event without confusing pages or descriptions. Within the site pages site, I decided to name each section with “The” coming before the title, to create an easier navigation experience.
DESIGN PROCESS The Final Design
I wanted the mobile site to mirror the web, without giving up much of the experience. With that in mind, nothing major was changed in the mobile site, other than the inability to use hover stages. The “Speakers page” was edited to include a scroll bar to showcase the information more easily.
I built both mobile and web applications in Adobe XD, being that the event is not occurring. While not as necessary as easy as other site staging platforms, it offered me the ability to work more efficiently. In return, I developed more prototyping, UX, and animation skills. While the site may not be functional, the project itself was a personal challenge that has been very rewarding,
